You know, I was thinking (before I saw this clip) that I seem to enjoy Bush more now. Since I know that he can't be reelected, and that it seems that Obama will be heir-apparent, I can sit back and enjoy Bush and all of his "particulars" for its comedic value instead of its political value (if that makes sense.) Anyways, say this, and I would normally have been a bit upset with his comments, but now, I seem to genuinely love watching it, like an SNL skit or something. So hope you enjoy it. And to make it look like I'm not Bush-bashing too much, I've included a second video talking about the successes Bush has made in Africa, something that I'm proud of that I voted for him in '04. I Love Learning...

Yesterday a boil developed right in the middle of my forehead; kind of like how Indians have those little red dots, except mine is a bit bigger and more inflamed. Anyways, so I figured I'd let it go for a day and deal with the humiliating side effects. When I got home last night, I researched just what exactly a boil is, and found out that almost all the time its caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, or Staph, like as in Staph infection. So as most of you know, they can get out of hand, especially if it happens to be MRSA, which is basically antibiotic resistant Staph. (that's what the 'MR' stands for.) And after working in the hospital, I know almost everything there is to know about MRSA. Also, working in the hospital is more than likely where I got it from. I deal with on average about 10 MRSA infected patients a day. So there is no telling when I got it, or from who. But it made its way to my forehead, and so there it grows. Anyways, I researched some more tonight for treatments of it, and I asked a doctor today that I knew about ways to treat it. (He's an infectious disease doc, and when I told him about it, he got this serious concerned look on his face, like I was going to fall out dead at any moment, and asked it I had anymore anywhere else on my body. I don't.) On another side note, in my research after my talk with the doctor, I found out that when someone has an outbreak of boils at one time in different areas of your body, it is a sign of smallpox. I guess that was the look of concern on the doc's face. So I say all that to say this, I know alot more now about Neosporin, Magnesium Sulfate (both paste and Epsom Salt,) Cipro, and added more knowledge to what I already knew about Gram-positive bacteria. So like the ol' saying goes, Knowledge is Power. Well, I'll have to see if my new found power works in the morning. I hope its cleared up by then. I'll keep you posted.

Concert Heaven...

So I got tickets to the concert of the year... well behind the DMB concert. Anyways, its Seether, Three Days Grace, and Breaking Benjamin. Its this Tuesday, and I already have the day off. Between the three of them, they have 21 Top 20 hits, with 7 of them being #1 hits. I favor Seether myself, partly because they are older, but I like them all. So me and a few people from work are going, and it should be a good time. I'm calling this a primer for "The concert in October." I like doing that, kinda like naming Voldemort "He who must not be named."

Music makes me cry... or as Rob Bell would say, Music is Spiritual...

Man, music can sure rip to the very bottom of your soul and tear it to shreds. As I was driving home from work tonight, I decided to listen to some older country. I started off with Alabama, then I went to The Judds, for there was one song I was longing to hear in particular, "Why Not Me." But right before it was their song "Young Love, Strong Love," and so I played it first. Man, what a good song. If you've never heard it, go download it. Its an awesome love song. Anyways, then "Why Not Me" played next. And so as I listened to the song, I felt like crying. Not because the song it sad (its upbeat,) but because of the memories attached to it. It reminds me of a better day, this song in particular, at my grandparents house in Ft. Meade, hearing it coming out of the small clock radio outside in the carport. There is something spiritual about music, in how it connects to us on much more than just a physical way. I don't know what it is about it, it just does. Anyways, I'm not sure what else to say on that, other than it sends chills down my spine to hear songs from my childhood that I haven't hard in a while.
