Obama in Iowa

To prove that I am not biased in my condemnation of certain political figures, I offer this post. This week, when the Senate resumed calls for Bush to bring the troops home, and looked to push legislation through the chamber, two top democratic candidates were not present to hear, debate, and vote. They were both in Iowa giving campaign speeches. Obama spoke on the economy, and Clinton spoke on the war. Now, while I am not opposed to sitting senators or reps from campaigning, I am opposed to them be absent on days that deal with more urgent, and highly important issues, such in this case. And for the record, McCain was on the floor, and gave a speech from it. I wish he could make it to the primaries, it just doesn't look like he has enough money to do it.

Dick Cheney is 2nd Least Popular VP

New NY Times polling out last week shows that Cheney's approval rating is the 2nd lowest for any VP in polling history. And get the irony of this: Cheney is W's VP, and the VP with the lowest ever number, Dan Quayle, was Bush Sr.'s. The numbers: Cheney 59% disapproval to Mr. Danforth's 63%.

Sorry, I forgot about your p.s's. As far as the iPhone goes, extensive scientific research has gone into studying the buzz around the iPhone. The numerous studies have revealed that most 20-somethings have little or no desire to buy the iPhone, in fact most surveyed would rather have had their faces scraped with an industrial-sized cheese grader. Case in point is that over the weekend that the iPhone was released, there were only 500,000 of the iPhones sold. Very unimpressive if you ask me. So I wouldn't recommend you getting one, unless you want to join those few lost souls who got one over the weekend.

And as far as the kitchen thing goes... ma'am, you need to relax. Not everyone is a male chauvinist. Maybe you could relax by going and baking an apple pie or something. Just a thought.

Hello, I'm Roberta from Smackover, Arkansas. I've been trying to work for the kingdom and help start new churches but lately my other skills are being called upon. People've been trying to steal stuff and I've sprung into action with: running, tackling, numb-chucks, Chinese star-throwing, interrogation, etc So what is your advice...am I doing good for the kingdom or am I some kind of a crime fighter or something?

Well it just so happens that I'm packing a scorched Beechwood Derby handle cane, so welcome to the club. As far as the crime fighting goes, I've had a similar situation happen to me as well! Doesn't all that running hurt your leg afterwards? Anyways, to answer your question, I find that after a rough outing chasing criminals, it helps to just stop and think about what you are called to do. Are you called to bring human justice to man, or to help others to avoid God's justice by teaching them to lean upon His grace? That, I'm afraid Roberta, is a question only you can answer. Here's a little heart warming verse to sooth over your soul on this matter. Hope it speaks volumes into your life. Rev. 19:11. Read it.

NYC, Here I Come!

Finally, if the Lord wills, I will be going to NYC. I have my plane tickets (July 16-21), and tickets to a Yanks game (the 17th- against the Jays). Now normally, I wouldn't root for the Yanks, but I'm willing to put aside my differences while in the great city and great stadium (plus, they've won 12 less games than us so far, and are 11 games behind the Sox's.) I'm going to NYC with a great group of guys, and I look forward to enjoying myself throughly. I'll let you know how it went when I get back.

Kuchinch '08

Here's yet another reason why Rep. Dennis Kuchinch (D- OH) will not win the Democratic nomination for president. I know that its a stretch for me to say that, but time will prove me right. His latest quote at the last debate was about how if Sudan had oil, then we would have invaded them as well. Just a weak attack of Bush, and is riddled with ignorance. Here it is:

“It’s time for the United States to stop looking at Africa as a place where our corporations can exploit the people,”
“I mean, because let’s face it, let’s face it, if Darfur had a large supply of oil, this administration would be occupying it right now.”

So here's the funny part, Sudan has the 5th largest supply of oil in Africa, and to top it off, its still maturing.
