And The Answer Is...

Ok, so I'm sure most have figured it out by now. The answer to my question from the other day concerning a prayer is Barack Obama. He put it in the Western Wall and some Jewish Seminary student stole it and "leaked" it to a local newspaper. You can read about it here. So obviously this is tasteless and disrespectful to say the least. But at least they didn't mis-report it or draw up a cartoon to further fan the flames of prejudice (See Pic). But then again, who knows, this could just be another secret ploy to try to win over some religious votes out there and fool some ignorant Christians to think that Obama is actually a Christian. Hah, like someone could actually believe that!

Ok, I'm Sorry...

I told myself that I was not going to put anymore political videos on here, but I can't resist this one. It's short and really funny. And the best part is its not bias at all. No, I mean it. Just watch it!

Guess Who!!!

Well Mark Driscoll played a guessing game earlier this week by having people guess who was depicted in a cartoon that he put up. So now it's my turn. But my game is written words as opposed to a picture. I will give one American dollar (which by the way is now weaker than the peso,) to whoever guesses it right. I will post on Sunday who was it that wrote it and some brief thoughts of mine on it. I have given you one hint above in the picture. So without further ado, ah hum...

***Oh, and I was just joking about the dollar deal. I mean, it is weaker than the peso, but I'm still not going to give them away. (Unless your a homeless man who walks up to me on Kentucky Ave. downtown.)

Mars Hill Rap...

Wow...I love that! The word "missional" in a rap song. And it makes me wonder, how many Christians would decry that and call it not edifying to the Spirit? These guys brought up some good points! Good Stuff! By the way, I got this emailed to me by Adam.

The Greatest Concert EVER...

Or at least that I've ever seen. Dave and Co. blew it away last night. First off, let me say that Jeff Coffin of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones did an amazing job filling in for LeRoi Moore, who was still recovering from an ATV accident in Virgina. Second off, getting the chance to hear Tim Reynolds play along with Dave in concert was just as good and better than I expected it to be. Ok, so now the enviroment. A good thunderstorm drove up on us just after Gomez got off stage, so that delayed The Band for a bit. But when they started in with "Don't Drink The Water" it was awesome with a lightning and thunder show going on behind us. They picked out all the jam songs and played then nice and slow, with each member getting serveral lengthy solos, including of course Tim. Anyways, Cornbread was played as expected, and Dave add-libbed a bit in it, which was special. Also, Dave played "The Song That Jane Likes," a fan favorite but concert rarity, so that was very special. And to top off the uniqueness of the show, he also played "Sugar Will," which hadn't been played since October of 2004. And to further the historic night, Dave played "Out Of My Hands" on the piano. He said before starting the song that "I don't play the piano, but I do it anyways." He played #41 with an "Everyday" outro, which I had never heard before. # 41 started a 40 min. spell that was complete heaven. As you can see from the setlist below, it was all big hits, and the encore was classic Ants Marching. Like I said, it wasn't all hits all night long, but it was jam songs all night long, and ended with the big hits/jam songs of Two Step and # 41. Plus, the guys in previous years just seemed to be doing a show, like it was work. But this year from start to finish, they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Dave even did about a 3 minute dance earlier on in the concert, something he's never done in Tampa. DMB Almanac rated the concert as far as rarity among this year's concerts as 9 out of 53. The total playing time was 2 hours and 18 minutes of pure pleasure. All in all, it was by far the best I've seen them, which is now 5 times. Plus Laura came with me, which was an added bonus! Can't wait till next year!
